Time go Get Organized

I ask myself, "how the heck does my house seem so chaotic/messy when I have a bachelors in Interior design?" and then I see two little munchkins un-doing what I just organized!
Well, I will let the mess if it means having my two precious kids exploring, creating and learning through their experiences and environment.  But then again...I think there is room for improvement.  Do I really need to keep so many of their precious baby clothes?  Do I really need all of my late Mom/Dad's things?
So..
I have decided to start one room at a time; on top of the list is the "junk room".  You know the room that everything gets thrown into that you have no idea where else to put it.  The room with boxes of outgrown clothes, too big for the kids yet clothes, the books that will never get red again.  That room!
Yesterday I began the "war on clutter" and sorted through the tubs and boxes, making a "garage sale" pile, "give-away" pile, "to store" pile and "to keep" pile.  I worked on it all day, the room still doesn't look any better, but hey it is organized.
Today, I am trying to decide what to tackle first..do I move things to storage, load up my car with the "donate" pile or try to find some room to organize the items that are staying.  In my head I am seeing the big picture and fantasizing on paint colors, light fixtures, and flooring.  Stay on task Michaela!  I tell myself or before I know it I will be on the computer searching for the perfect paint color.
Here is the "junk room".  I know it looks like an episode from Horders.

Here is the "school room" part I finished yesterday.

I worked on the room for hours, and yet you can't really tell that I did anything.  Know the feeling?

Introductions

I have read so many neat blogs since I joined Pinterest that I thought I might as well start my own blog.
I am a country Mommy raising my kiddos with the freedom farm life has to offer.  We are pretty blessed to live in the place I grew up, on a beautiful farm with a creek running through it.
My kids can run naked, get muddy, and run wild without neighbors looking at them with strange expressions.
Yep, this is sure a god life!
 A.  learning to "drive" the International.  Always a favorite adventure.

Who knew that winter was coming in April instead of January?

A little about me:
I am a stay at home Mommy of 2:  P. is 5.5 and A. is 3.5.  I started home-schooling P. this spring and have decided to continue for kindergarten.  Never saw myself as a teacher, but have found so much joy from teaching my kids!  They love it and actually ask me when does home-school start today?

I have a Bachelors in Interior design and a minor in Architecture, so design is a huge part of who I am. I was the kid who drew floorplans for fun instead of going out with friends.  Leggos were one of my favorite toys growing up and I still enjoy playing with them now as an adult.  You are never too old to play!

Family is very important to me; I have lost both parents, 2 brothers, and all of my grandparents..teaching me that life is precious and fleeting.  I try to live without regrets and am working on trying to live without guilt too.  The guilt is a challenge being a Mommy though...I find myself feeling guilty way too often.

My blog is a place to share my daily to do lists/frustrations/projects and happiness that my life brings.

Thanks for stopping by!
